The Services of Chiniot Sheikh Society for humanity are appreciable: Riaz Ahmed Tata

Karachi, April 09, 2003:  Although fulfillment of the basic needs of less privileged people is the responsibility of the government the business community and other philanthropist organizations must come forward and give the helping hand.  This was stated by Mr. Riaz Ahmed Tata President FPCCI in a meeting with the delegation of Chiniot Sheikh Society led by Mian Arshad Alam, President of the society in Federation House, Karachi.

Mr. Riaz Ahmed Tata lauded the services rendered by the Chiniot Sheikh Society in the sector of Education & Health and said that the Almighty Allah has blessed the community with quality education and zeal to work with honesty which is the root cause of flourishing of this community. The dedication and zeal to work with honesty was taught by the forefathers of the community and now it is the duty of current members of this society to follow the footsteps of their elders to spread this noble cause.

Earlier in his address the President of the Society Mian Arshad Alam has said that due to unfavorable conditions for small traders and also for new entrants in small trade self employed persons are getting unemployed and unable to earn their livelihood, as a result of which our NGO has received 180% more applications for grant of funds for livelihood as compared with previous year,  Mr. Alam said that educated youth is facing problems of employment due to lack of investment and new job opportunities, Although Chiniot Sheikh Bradri is still investing upto certain extend but much more efforts are required by the government to create investment friendly culture in the country.  He also explained in detail about the activities of the Society and said that Chiniot Sheikh is one of the oldest NGO in Karachi and has done a lot for the society and the city of Karachi. The society’s monthly expenditures are met with the help of philanthropists of the community. Mian Arshad Alam also said that the committee is not selective in granting funds for education, health or arranging marriages of orphan girls. Mr. S.M.Munir also spoke on this occasion and appreciated the work done by the society and paid high tributes to the president of the society Mian Arshad Alam.

The society delegation  comprised Sr Vice President Mr. Mansha Chhurra, Vice President Mian Abdul Shakoor, Secretary General Mr. Zulfiqar Sheikh & Mr. Shaukat Iqbal and others.
